Matt won through to the semis only a week after having to compete in Qualifying School to retain his Tour Card, showing his quality with fine wins over Jelle Klaasen, Tony West, John Part, Mensur Suljovic and Kim Huybrechts in earning £2,000 prize money.


Semi-Finals for Superman

Matt reached the semi-finals in Crawley this weekend. The run saw victories over Alex Roy 6-5, Darren Johnson 6-1, Andy Smith 6-4, Adrian Lewis 6-3 and Mark Webster 6-1 before the eventual winner, Justin Pipe, edged past Matt 6-3.


Matt reaches Last 16 stage in Nuland

Matt reached the last 16 in Nuland today. He defeated Arron Monk and Jamie Caven 6-2 before edging out Kevin McDine 6-4. However, Matts run ended in the last 16 where he lost to Kevin Painter 6-2.



Last 16 in Barnsley

Matt reached the last 16 in Barnsley today. He defeated Andy Pearson 6-1 in round one before edging out Roland Scholten & Dave Smith 6-4. However, Matt was unfortunate in the last 16 where he narrowly lost to Steve Beaton.


Superman continues to fly in Wigan

Matt reached the last 16 again in Wigan this weekend. The run saw victories over David Coyne, Joe Cullen and Shaun Griffiths before Vincent Van Der Voort edged past Matt 6-5. Vincent then went on to win the event.


Good weekend in Barnsley for Superman

Matt reached the last 32 & 16 at this weekends events. Saturday saw victories over Prakash Jiwa and Martyn Turner to reach the last 32 before Steve Evans, Joe Cullen and Andy Hutchings were Supermans victims in reaching the last 16 on Sunday.

Last 16 in Dublin

Matt reached the last 16 in Dublin today. He defeated Andy Relf in his first match before edging out Kevin Painter 6-4 & Steve Beaton 6-5. However, Matt was unfortunate in the next round where he lost to Justin Pipe.

Semi Finals in Vegas!!

Matt defeated Phil Taylor 6-5 in the quarter-finals to reach the last 4 of a ProTour event for the first time in 2 years. He had also produced a superb finale to his second round clash with Mark Dudbridge, with back-to-back 160 finishes to come from 5-4 down and take victory.


Last 16 in Derby

Matt reached the last 16 in Derby today. He defeated Kevin Harris in his first match before edging out Sam Allen & Andy Smith 6-5. However, Matt was unfortunate in the next round where he lost 6-5 to Tony Eccles.


Matt hits Nine Darter in Gibraltar!

Matt hit a perfect 9 dart leg in Gibraltar this weekend. It came during his win over Dave Askew in the first round. He unfortunately lost out 6-4 in the next round. Saturday also saw Matt reach the last 32.



Ladbrokes.com World Darts Championships result

Matt lost 3-0 to Mervyn King in the opening round of the 2010 World Darts Championships tonight. Matt was unfortunate losing the first set 3-2 whilst Mervyn King was in fine form averaging 97.40 during the match.


Quarter-Finals in Grand Slam Qualifier

Matt was unfortunate in the Grand Slam ITV wildcard qualifier this weekend as he lost out in the last 8 to Arron Monk 4-2. He had previously defeated Mike Veitch 4-1, David Brown 4-1, Iain Jones 4-2 and Ken Dobson 6-2.


Last 16 in Canada

Matt reached the last 16 in Canada today. He defeated Glenn Fraser without dropping a leg in his first match before edging out Barrie Bates 6-5. However, Matt was unfortunate to run into the eventual winner Dennis Priestley in the next round where he lost 6-4.


UK Open Finals 2009 result

Matt was defeated by Alex Roy 6-3 in the second round of the 2009 UK Open finals at the Reebok Stadium in Bolton today. Alex as in good form and edged past Matt to reach the last 64 stage.



Matt flys into the UK Open Finals in Bolton

Nuland Players Championships, Holland

Matt reached the last 16 & 32 at the weekends events, respectively. On Saturday Matt defeated Ian Perkins & Andreas Stark 6-1 & Martyn Turner 6-4 before losing 6-1 to Colin Osborne. Sunday saw him defeat Ian Perkins & Nick Fulwell 6-2 before losing 6-5 to Peter Wright.


West Midlands UK Open Regional Final, Doncaster

Matt reached the quarter-finals in Coventry today. He defeated Par Riihonen 6-3, Ronnie Baxter 6-4, John Kuczynski 6-0 & Colin Lloyd 6-5. Unfortunately, Matt lost 6-1 to the previous days winner, Mark Walsh in the last 8.


North West Championships, Wigan

Matt reached the last 32 at both events this weekend. He defeated Shaun Dring 6-2 & Larry Butler 6-5 on Saturday and Nigel Birch 6-3 & Mark Webster 6-0 on Sunday. James Wade defeated Matt in the board final at both events, 6-4 & 6-0 respectively.


Players Championship, Germany

Matt reached the last 8 in Germany today, defeating Geoff Whitworth in his first match before knocking out Marko Puls 6-0 in the last 64. Mark Walsh was his next victim 6-4, before Superman defeated Hamilton 6-2. Unfortunately Phil Taylor beat Matt 6-2.


North East UK Open Regional Final, Doncaster

Matt reached the last 32 in Doncaster today. He defeated Andy Mason 6-1 in his first match before knocking out Tony Ayres in a close battle 6-5. Unfortunately, Matt lost 6-3 to Terry Jenkins in the board final.


2009 Ladbrokes.com World Darts Championship

Matt lost 3-2 in sets to Kevin Painter at the 2009 World Darts Championship. Matt, who averaged 92.88, forced the game to a deciding leg with the score at 2-2 and 5-5 in legs.

2008 German Darts Championship

Matt was in fine form as he reached the last 32 in Halle this weekend. He beat the current German number 2, Andree Welge 3-0 in sets, Freddy Pohlers 3-0 & Andy Smith 3-2 before losing 3-1 to Alan Tabern in the board final.

John McEvoy Gold Dart Classic Players Championship

Matt reached the last 8 in Killarney this weekend. He was the number 10 seed and got through his first 2 matches without dropping a set. He then beat Colin Monk 3-2 & Garrett Gray 3-1 before losing 3-1 to Barrie Bates in the quarters.


Welsh Players Championships Results

Matt reached the last 8 in Newport at Saturdays event. He was in fine form all day including a 3-0 win over James Wade, before losing to the eventual winner Ronnie Baxter. Sunday saw Matt defeat D.Mansell & S. Rooney before losing to Co Stompe.


Windy City Open Results

Matt reached the last 16 in Chicago, defeating Dan Olson 3-0 (sets) & Andy Jenkins 3-1 in the second round. In the last 16 Matt lost out 3-2 to the eventual winner Colin Lloyd. Matt also claimed the pairs title, defeating J. Kuczynski & B. Blake in the final.


Kitchener Open Players Championship

Matt reached the last 16 in Canada today, he defeated D. Warford
3-0 (sets) in his first game and Mike Mainville in the second, once again without dropping a set. In the board final Matt overcame Dan Olson 3-1 before losing out to Andy Jenkins 3-1 in the last 16.

Matt reached the last 8 of the 2008 World Matchplay, losing to the defending champion, James Wade. He was in superb form, defeating Scholten & Manley on his way to the quarters.
